Billy's Chowder House

Billy's Chowder House, established in 1979, is one of the oldest waterfront restaurants in Wells, Maine. Enjoy views of the Rachel Carson Wildlife Preserve & Tidal Marsh.

Billy's Chowder House is a casual seafood restaurant, located in the southern coastal town of Wells, Maine, with a reputation for great chowder and lobster rolls. The notoriety doesn't end there; the freshest seafood around is probably what sets them apart from every other Seafood Restaurant along the coast. We are located in the middle of the Rachel Carson Wildlife Preserve on Mile road, which connects Rt.1 to Wells Beach. Billy's has a unique one of a kind location, with water on both sides of the road.

The interior of Billy's is typical Maine, with knotty pine walls and ceilings, blue-checkered tablecloths and nautical memorabilia everywhere. They even have lobsters on their ceilings, just to keep the little ones occupied. The bar has a sports theme with lots of TV's and sports pictures. The view is what makes this bar unique though, you can sit at the bar and watch the seals swim, or the fish jump.
